Rates: I am committed to providing quality services at a rate that is affordable for you. My rates are comparable to other providers in the area with similar qualifications and experience. Please don't let my private rates discourage you from contacting me. I offer a limited amount of sliding scale slots to those who qualify. As well, I can offer suggestions for alternative solutions if I am not able to accommodate your financial situation.
Individual Therapy (50-minute session): $150 For more information related to rates based on other services (family session, home visits, school consultations) please contact me.
Why don't you take insurance?: Up until a few years ago I was on several insurance panels. Unfortunately after billing for services, I often found that the client would still be responsible for a large portion of fees. Therefore, I switched my focus to be patient-centered and I currently do not take insurance. I have found that making this transition allows for me to give you my full attention on the therapeutic relationship. This also allows for us to collaborate on the types of therapy you receive (instead of 3rd party insurance companies directing the treatment focus while requiring a diagnosis). Finally, without sharing your information with insurance companies for billing authorizations and treatment planning purposes, you are better able to protect you and your child's rights to privacy and confidentiality in the work we do together. I also cannot accept Medicaid due to mental health laws.
If you receive any Out of Network (OON) benefits from your insurance coverage, I can offer a monthly "superbill" receipt at the end of each month with the appropriate details for you to request reimbursement from your insurance carrier if applicable. If this is something you would require before starting therapy, please check with your insurance company to see if OON benefits are an option for you.
Cancellation Policy: If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel in less than 24 hours or do not show up for your appointment, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. Insurance companies do not cover this fee for reimbursement. ABC Behavioral Services accepts HSA or FSA cards, cash, checks and all major credit cards and payment is due at time of services. I accept secure and protected card payment through my Electronic Medical Record (EMR) practice management program Therapy Notes.
* I am not a Medicaid provider and I am not allowed, by law, to bill for work with a child covered by Medicaid. As well, if you or your child receive Medicaid, then you are not allowed to pay privately for therapy services.
